Blog Sustainability - What does it depend on?
- Is it the readers?
- Is it the traffic?
- Is it Alexa ranking?
- Is it Technorati authority?
- Number of times you have been on DIGG?
- How many stumbles you have gotten? or,
- Is it the number of comments you get on each posts?
Although all of the above might be true in one way or the other. The one single thing that your blog’s sustainability depends on is
YOU!
You are responsible for the number of readers, subscribers your blog has
You bring in the traffic. Nobody else. You write, you grab attention.
You boost your Alexa rank
You write articles worth linking and you get your Technorati authority off the hook
You are able to grab the attention of social media and make them stick
You create a platform for discussion and engage readers.
Traffic, reader number, comments, social media attention all depend on you. The sustainability of a blog depends on you, nothing else. Period.

I think like you we have to promote and work hard to have profit and acomplishement.
Short but impactful! You’re 110% right. The real success of a blog depends on the tenacity of the blogger… The one who sustains and wins over himself will be the one crossing the finishing line.
Thanks for the great reminder, Ritu!

Excellent thoughts, Ritu! A refreshing change from the whining I’ve been listening to all day (coming from myself!)
Good form!
@ soares: you are right but everything that comes along is because of us and nobody else. What ever result our blog brings is directly related with what we put into it.
