I had the most bizzare experience today. Some guy I have never met, never spoken to, never heard of, who has no understanding of my business or background, emailed me out of the blue with his unsolicited "stab" at rewriting and the copy of the homepage on my website! HUH?? Here's what he said: "Hello there. I saw your comment on copyblogger so I decided to visit your site. I read the text on your homepage and thought I'd give myself a challenge to rewite it using some marketing techniques I've been studying lately. Mind you I'm no expert in persuasive copyrighting by a long shot, but I think what I can up with is a step in the right direction. And if you don't care for constructive criticism, I won't mind if you tell me to take a hike. ;)" Did I ask him for that? No. Does my copy scream to be rewritten? No. Did he use spell check? No. Ironically, he sent me a link to a post he wrote on another blog about PROOF READING TIPS! I looked the guy up (he used a pseudonym but I figured out who he was) and he has no blog or website and his 28 tweets to his 17 followers, several of whom are porn girls, just talk about how bored and buzzed he is from drinking homemade wine!
